Kamakhya Devi Temple Assam is a very sacred temple for Hindus and is considered one of the 51 Shakti Peethas of Hindu mythology.
This was the place where the yoni (genitals) of Goddess Sati felt during the tandav nritya (dance) of Lord Shiva with the burning body of Goddess Sati.
The Kamakhya temple is considered one of the oldest Shakti Peeth and is located in the western part of Guwahati. Originally a local place of worship for the mother goddess Kamakhya, where the main cult of the an iconic yoni set in natural stone continues today. Palace, Koch and Ahoms.
In one corner of the cave of the temple, there is a natural sculpture of Devi Kamakhya, the mother of female vagina, which is the object of enshrinement. Although there is no image of Sati in the temple complex, it is the Yoni or female sexual organof the temple deity located in the corner of the temple cave and is the object of worship.
